TOUR 1 Vatican Museums - Sistine Chapel - Saint Peter's Basilica. The Vatican Museums are among the most important museums in the world.The visit includes the galleries of Candelabras, Tapestries, Geographical maps and the room of Immaculate Conception till the Sistine Chapel whit the marvellous Michelangelo's frescoes representing the Creation and the Last Judgement. Recently, after his beatification the body of John XXIII has been located inside a crystal tomb. TOUR 2 Trevi Fountain - Pantheon - Navona Square. Our tour will start with the Trevi fountain that became famous after the Fellini's film "La dolce vita". It was begun in the year 1732 by Nicola Salvi and inaugurated in the year 1762. Let's continue on our walking tour through the historical centre crossing Piazza Colonna, so called because of the Marcus Aurelius Column, Montecitorio, the seat of the Chamber of Deputies (House of Commons), Pantheon (visit inside), erected by emperor Hadrian in the II century a.D., that preserve the widest dome in the world. We continue passing by Palazzo Madama, seat of the Italian Senate, and we reach Piazza Navona (stop) realised on the ruins of the ancient Domitian's stadium, with the famous Fountain of the four rivers, Bernini's masterpiece. PROGRAM - DAY 2 TOUR 3 Coliseum - Roman Forum - Capitoline Hill - Venice Square. The Coliseum, whose real name is Flavian Amphitheatre, was built by two emperors of the Flavian family; Vespasian began it on 72 a.D. and his son Titus ended it on 80 a.D. On the same square we can admire the Arch of Constantine erected in the IV century a.D. and the Arch of Titus in the I century a.D. We will continue walking through the Roman Forum, the biggest archaeological area in the world just in the heart of Rome. Arriving on the top of the Capitole hill, nowadays seat of the City Hall, we can admire the beautiful square designed by Michelangelo Buonarroti with the Palazzo Conservatori and the Palazzo Nuovo which are important Museums. After that, going down the Capitole Hill we'll get directly into Venice Square where we will be astonished by the Vittoriano, the biggest European monument. TOUR 4 CATACOMBS - ANCIENT APPIAN WAY - CIRCUS MAXIMUS. The tour starts in your Hotel visiting the archeological area of the Circus Maximus where Romans organized spectacular competitions with bigas and quadrigas, (like in the BEN HUR movie). We will continue arriving at the Baths built by the Emperor Caracalla in 212 A.C. and considered the largest Public Baths, able to contain up to 2000 persons a day. We will proceed along the Appian Way, the Romans called Regina Viarum (the queen of the ways) On our way we shall have a look at the Domine Quo Vadis Chapel. We arrive to the Catacombs, the ancient underground cemeteries, the first evidence of the Christians faith, where with Local Guide you will have an extraordinary experience. After the visit of the Catacombs we will cross the Aurelian City Walls, built by emperor Aurelian in the III century a.D. to defend the city from the Barbarians invasions. Going back to the Hotel you will see the Famous Pyramid Cestia wich is the Highest (37 meters) and the holdest Pyramid in all Europe, wich is the Monument built about 12 BC by Caius Cestius.
